What To Bring To School

Outdoors Everyday

At FCNS, we go outside EVERY DAY unless it is dangerous to do so. It is important for your child to have the appropriate clothing to enjoy their experience in nature. Here are some guidelines on what you will need to have by the start of school.

Each child is required to have a rain suit and rubber/rain boots all school year. We suggest a Tuffo Muddy Buddy (https://tuffo.com/muddy-buddy/) that is light weight and water proof. When purchasing, please get one size up because it will have to go over their snow pants and jacket in the winter time. Some families have found Oakiwear (https://oaki.com/) a little more durable and they come in larger sizes for older kids.

DO NOT GET CAMOUFLAGE GEAR!! It does a great job of hiding your child from the teachers as they blend into the environment. Bright colors are better to see them with!

The Best Days End in Dirty Clothes!

Your child is going to get dirty at FCNS. It is important to consider this when you are choosing gear. Some outer gear should not be washed every time as it affects it's waterproof properties. Stains will be hard to get out but they will be like a badge of honor from a great day at school!

Benefits of Getting Dirty

Dirty kids have healthier immune systems

Dirty kids are happier

Dirty kids are more active

Dirty kids have healthier sensory systems

Dirty kids are smarter
